Something you should know about the blog and maybe about me...
Hello! My name is Anca, well, actually it is not, it is just a nickname I gave myself since my real name is so complicated that almost no one, unless they're from my country of origin (Romania) can pronounce it or spell it correctly.
I am a reader, maybe a weird one since I currently read in four different languages: Romanian, my mother tongue (obviously), Spanish (because I've been living here for almost seven years), English (the one I've been taught in school, even though I really didn't learnt it from there) and French in spite of the fact that I am only on a beginner level. In comparison to other readers, I do not know exactly what my favourite genre is. It normally depends on my mood or if the story is catchy.
This does get confusing at times, but it is actually fun to see how different is the writing/translation style in each language. I try as much as possible to read each book in its original language, but I can usually end up reading something such as Little Women in Spanish (Mujercitas). The reason I try to do this is because I know that at the moment of translation many cultural aspects get lost, misinterpreted or not translated at all. You may ask how and why do I know that and the answer is that I'm an university student on a Translation degree.
The real reason I created this blog is that I don't really know why I did it. Maybe because it sounded fun, maybe to face my fear of judgement or what others think about what I think. Nevertheless, one thing that I know is that I started this because I love books. I will write reviews or I will tell you the books I like or I don't know, maybe something I find interesting or you find and want me to express my opinion about it.
Well, that's it for now I think…😊
Anca
